Logo redesign for award winning, independent development house.
I was asked by Realmac (creators of popular Mac and iOS apps such as Clear, Rapidweaver and Ember) to redesign their company logo. The brief was to create a hand drawn logotype with a soft, friendly feel that could also allow them to gradually move away from the word ‘software’ in their existing title.
The process involved exploring a range of lettering styles and taking into consideration how small variations in curves, line terminals, and line contrast could subtly effect the overall ‘voice’ of the logo.
As the logo progressed, we toned down any overly flashy or ornamental details, in favour of a much cleaner, more modest style while still retaining the trademark charm and playfulness Realmac are known for.
